The Achievements of Developing School Features
- Develop "5 + 2
+ 2 + 1" professional features
In the
"5+2+2+1" innovation industry, Biotechnology and Medicine, Asia
Silicon Valley, Smart Machinery, Green Energy, Digital Innovation, and Cultural
Technology six areas have selected as the school’s development focus. In these
fields, a number of patented technologies have been successfully developed, and
a total of 32 pieces of technology transfer worth NTD 8.4 million were obtained
in 2020. Examples are as follows:
(1) Small molecule new drug development
“Chinese Herbal
Medicine Technology R&D Center” has successfully developed new curcumin
derivatives for Alzheimer’s disease, and has also founded a spin-off company”
Merry Life Biomedical Company Ltd.” The company raised NTD 250 million. In 2021,
it will apply for the US new drug development certification.
(2) AIOT technology and application
Successfully
developed the "Falling Torso Image Recognition Technology", which won
the Medical Quality Mark of the Industrial Application Group of the "2020
National Medical Quality Award". Successfully developed a "drug
identification system" , which is expected to be introduced into the
pharmacy department of hospital to improve the efficiency of pharmacy
dispatching personnel's adjustment and verification.
(3) Develop smart cutting and visual calibration machine
In cooperation with
shoe’s machine factory - Yinghui Machinery, which developed commercial
intelligent cutting and visual calibration tool machines. In addition, developed
a vector object expansion and typesetting patented technology, which won the
gold medal of the 2020 Taiwan Innovation Technology Expo Invention Competition.
This technology has been applied to shoe factories in overseas.
- Promote internationalization
In order to expand international perspectives of stustdents, STUST actively promotes students’ internships in overseas. In the 108 academic year, the number of students going to overseas for internship reached 116.
- Promote R&D and academia-industry collaboration initiatives
To develop school featured research programs, STUST stimulated faculty
to organize interdisciplinary R&D teams, and in so doing the sharing of technologies
and resources. To date, 18 R&D centers have been established. Furthermore,
STUST organized and arranged resources from industry partners for utilization
by faculty and students to establish the “Industry-academia Collaborative Joint
R&D centers” on campus. To date, 5 centers have been established.
STUST
has won the ninth consecutive "Industry-University Cooperation Excellent
Unit" by the Chinese Society of Engineers
The student's
creation-"Hando" assistive device, won the 2020 IDEA Gold Award in
the United States, and also won the 16th outstanding technical and
vocational education award.
